Greetings, and welcome to my website. Since you’re here, it’s likely that we have some interests in common. This site includes links to my research projects and a list of my publications, most of them available here as .pdf documents, as well as accessible maps and photos. Feel free to print any of these for reference or educational purposes.

If you are a student, I hope the projects described here inspire you and help you move forward in an exciting direction as you develop your own path.

If you are a researcher, I hope we can share ideas and learn from one another’s experiences.

If you are conservation-minded, or a land manager or land owner, I hope you find resources here that further your enjoyment of the earth’s beauty and encourage your contribution to its preservation.

It’s my privilege to have been raised in the prairie bioregion, and also to work with outstanding colleagues and students, with Native American elders, and with members of the public who wish to help preserve our native lands. As a plant ecologist and ethnobotanist, I am immersed daily in the interface between human cultures and the native flora that surround us. I believe that learning about native plants, our use of them and how they affect us can deepen our respect for the variety of human lifeways and our recognition of the richness just beyond our doors.

My work is about plants and people. I very much enjoy working with others and am particularly interested in collaborative projects, both field work and writing. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have an idea for project we could work on together.

Sincerely,

Kelly Kindscher
